This is an excellent opportunity for a recent maritime or technical graduate, or someone in the early stages of their shore-based career, to develop within yacht technical management. The position will offer exposure to vessel operations, technical support, compliance, budgets, maintenance planning and wider ship management activities.
The Role
As Junior Technical Superintendent, you will support the technical, operational and financial management of yacht assets, acting as a key point of contact for yacht-related technical matters.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, vessel teams, crewing, HSEQ, class societies and external suppliers to help ensure safe, compliant and efficient vessel operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a first point of contact for technical matters
- Supporting statutory, regulatory and classification compliance
- Assisting with annual OPEX planning, dry dock proposals and budget monitoring
- Supporting planned maintenance, repairs and technical follow-up
- Contributing to ISM reviews in collaboration with HSEQ and vessel teams
- Coordinating with crewing colleagues to support effective yacht crewing planning
- Providing regular updates to senior management on technical and operational matters
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree or background in maritime studies, marine engineering, electromechanical engineering or a similar technical discipline
- Some practical exposure to commercial vessels, yachts or ship management environments would be beneficial
- A strong interest in yacht technical management, vessel maintenance, newbuild projects, regulations, navigation, insurance and budget management
- Good organisational and project management skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Dutch language skills would be advantageous
