Opportunity for an IT Manager with significant experience leading change, developing strategy and implementing cyber security standards to join the market leader in clean marine technology.


Silverstream Technologies has successfully developed and deployed a market-leading clean marine technology solution over the last ten years – The Silverstream® System. Our Air Lubrication System (ALS) fundamentally changes the interaction between water and a vessel’s hull, creating a carpet of microbubbles that coats the flat bottom of a vessel. As a result, frictional resistance is reduced – dramatically improving a vessel’s fuel consumption and associated emissions.


The role

The Information Technology Manager role is a key addition to the Silverstream Technologies team in support of our vision for growth and business plan.  Development of our management processes and information systems will be vital as we continue to scale up.
This new role reports directly to the VP Corporate Services, and is primarily responsible for:
  • Develop and implement IT strategies 
  • Influence IT change across the business
  • Manage, monitor, and develop service providers relationships
  • Monitoring Service Desk practices 
  • Establish SLAs, standards and IT service desk procedures
  • Managing the service desks role in the IT incident and problem management process 
  • Ensuring that all processes used are thoroughly documented, audited, and regularly improved
  • Managing continuous Service Improvement
  • Being the escalation point for internal issues
  • Creating and delivering regular reports
  • Drive efficiency of business systems and infrastructure
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of digital projects to deliver digital transformation
  • Integrating the company’s management processes into the platform(s), providing a user friendly and sustainable Management System across the business.
  • Support the developing of our Information Management System, delivering scalable business processes and promoting consistent ways of working that are compliant with and support ISO certifications (Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental).



The requirements

  • Degree qualified in a subject relevant to the role summary.
  • Significant experience of leading change and communicating upwards as well as across the organisation.
  • Experienced in design development and strategy development of Microsoft Azure and O365 Suite services.
  • Experienced in Information System development/implementation with broad experience of systems and tools.
  • Experienced in data security best practice, including ISO 27001 Information Security Management.
  • Interested in developing lean processes, with a strong leaning towards collaborative working.
  • Working knowledge of Quality, Environmental and Safety and Health requirements, including ISO certification.
  • Comfortable working remotely or in an office environment.
