I’m currently supporting an established marine engineering organisation in its search for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join its team in Canada.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex vessel construction and marine engineering projects, carrying out precision inspections to ensure ship structures, assemblies and installed components meet the required technical and quality standards.
The role would suit someone with experience in dimensional inspection, industrial measurement or surveying who is comfortable working with large fabricated structures in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections on ship structures, assemblies and installed components.
- Verify positioning, geometry and alignment throughout production and assembly.
- Confirm that fabricated and installed components meet the required tolerances.
- Use specialist measurement and inspection equipment to collect accurate data.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications and digital models.
- Analyse inspection results and identify dimensional non-conformities.
- Prepare measurement reports and maintain accurate inspection records.
- Work with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure inspection equipment is correctly maintained and calibrated.
- Previous quality control or dimensional inspection experience.
- Experience inspecting ship structures or other large fabricated assemblies.
- Knowledge of precision measurement, surveying or industrial alignment.
- Experience using advanced measurement and inspection equipment.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and geometrical tolerances.
- Familiarity with inspection or analysis software.
- Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience within shipbuilding, marine engineering, heavy manufacturing or another complex production environment.
