As HVAC-R Superintendent, you will take ownership of HVAC and refrigeration systems across your assigned vessels, ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
You’ll act as the key link between ship and shore, supporting onboard teams, leading technical initiatives, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of HVAC-R systems across the fleet
- Plan and manage maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and technical improvements
- Support vessels with technical expertise and troubleshooting
- Attend vessels for inspections, audits, and shipyard periods
- Lead and contribute to dry dock and refit activities [
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and maintenance strategies
- Continuously review and improve maintenance processes and documentation
- Proven experience working with HVAC-R systems in a maritime environment (cruise experience highly desirable)
- Background sailing as an Engineer or working in a technical shore-based role
- Relevant technical qualification in HVAC, refrigeration, or marine engineering
- Experience with planned maintenance systems (AMOS, Infoship or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence onboard and shore teams
- Organised, solutions-focused, and detail-oriented approach
