Faststream is working in partnership with an expanding shipping business in Germany that is looking to strengthen its shore-based team with the addition of an experienced HSEQ Superintendent.
This is an excellent opportunity for a maritime professional who brings a strong background across HSEQ and vetting and is looking to join a growing organisation where they can play a visible role in supporting fleet standards, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Based in Hamburg, this role will suit someone who is confident working closely with vessels and internal stakeholders to maintain high operational, safety, and quality standards across the fleet.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and oversee HSEQ activities across the fleet
- Monitor compliance with international regulations, industry standards, and company procedures
- Assist with audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Manage and support vetting activities, including preparation, follow-up, and performance improvement
- Work closely with vessel crews and shore-based teams to drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and environmental performance
- Maintain and develop HSEQ documentation, reporting, and management systems
- Previous shore-based experience in an HSEQ Superintendent or similar role within shipping
- Strong working knowledge of HSEQ and vetting processes
- Experience working with tanker operations essential
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations, compliance, and audit requirements
- Fluent German language skills
- Existing right to live and work in Germany
