This is a strategic leadership role, combining hands-on revenue generation with team build-out, client ownership, and market expansion across key dry bulk routes and cargo flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the dry bulk shipbroking desk across the region, driving revenue and market share
- Develop and execute a clear commercial strategy across major segments (Handy, Supramax, Ultramax)
- Manage, mentor, and expand a high-performing broking team
- Maintain and deepen relationships with key clients including shipowners, operators, charterers, and commodity traders
- Drive new business origination through strong market presence and personal network
- Monitor market trends, freight movements, and macro dynamics to guide strategy and positioning
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and operational discipline across the desk
- 10+ years of experience in dry bulk shipbroking, with a proven revenue track record
- Strong network across owners, charterers, and trading houses in Asia and/or globally
- Demonstrated leadership experience — either managing a team or ready to step into a leadership role
- Deep understanding of dry bulk markets, freight dynamics, and commercial risk
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build, scale, and drive a business unit
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
