Head of People – Irish Sea South
Location: Dublin (regional hub)

The Opportunity
This is a newly created regional Head of People role, established to strengthen senior People leadership across the Irish Sea South region. The position offers a compelling step‑up opportunity for an experienced HR Manager, People Manager or HR Business Partner ready to take on broader leadership responsibility.
Reporting into the Group Head of People Operations, you will lead the People agenda across multiple operational sites, supporting both shore‑based teams and seafaring colleagues in a highly operational, unionised environment. The role partners closely with senior regional leadership and plays a key role in driving organisational performance, engagement, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop and engage a regional People team, ensuring consistent delivery of the People agenda.
  • Deliver People strategy, change initiatives and operational excellence aligned to wider group direction.
  • Own day‑to‑day People operations, including governance, compliance, audit readiness, and data accuracy.
  • Manage complex employee relations and regional employment law across the UK and Republic of Ireland
  • Support industrial relations activity, including involvement in annual pay negotiations.
  • Coach and partner senior leaders to embed a strong performance, accountability and values‑led culture.
  • Support talent management, leadership development and succession planning.
  • Monitor absence and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Champion wellbeing, safety and an engaged, sustainable working environment.
Candidate Profile
This role suits candidates from operational, regulated or public sector environments.

Requirements:
  • A degree in HR or a related discipline.
  • Strong generalist HR experience, including people leadership.
  • Proven capability in negotiations and complex ER environments.
  • Confidence operating within heavily unionised workforces.
  • A commercial, operational mindset and comfort working across multiple sites.
  • Exposure to employment law across Ireland, the UK and/or Northern Ireland (highly desirable).
  • Strong digital capability and confidence using HR systems and tools.
