This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career Naval Architect to join a specialist team working on a range of vessels.
The Role
As a Graduate / Junior Naval Architect, you will work alongside experienced Naval Architects and Engineers, gaining exposure to the full vessel design and development process.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects from initial concept and design through to build, testing and sea trials, developing a broad understanding of Naval Architecture and marine engineering.
Your responsibilities will develop as your experience grows, with the opportunity to eventually take ownership of individual projects and work directly with clients.
Key Areas of Work
- Supporting the design and development of specialist vessels.
- Assisting with naval architecture calculations and technical analysis.
- Contributing to concept and detailed design activities.
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings and documentation.
- Supporting stability, resistance, propulsion and performance studies.
- Working closely with Naval Architects, Engineers and other technical disciplines.
- Supporting vessel build, testing and sea-trial activities.
- Developing your technical knowledge across the full vessel design lifecycle.
- Progressing towards taking responsibility for your own projects.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated graduate or junior-level engineer looking to build a career within a specialist marine design environment.
Essential:
- Degree qualified in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in vessel design and marine engineering.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist consultancy environment.
