Job Description

We are partnering with a global leader in the marine OEMs and shipbuilding industry to appoint a Country Head for Malaysia. This is a critical leadership position responsible for driving business performance, operational excellence, and strategic growth across the country, while leading a multi-disciplinary organization and act as the primary interface between regional leadership, clients, and key stakeholders in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Growth:
  • Define and execute the country strategy aligned with regional and global objectives
  • Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability (P&L ownership)
  • Identify new business opportunities across key sectors including marine & offshore, O&G, infrastructure, and industrial services
  • Strengthen market positioning and brand presence within Malaysia
Commercial & Business Development
  • Lead commercial strategy and sales performance, ensuring sustainable pipeline development
  • Build and manage key client relationships, including government bodies, shipowners, yards, and major industrial players
  • Oversee contract negotiations and high-value business opportunities
Operations & Performance Management
  • Ensure efficient operational delivery across all service lines (inspection, certification, testing, etc.)
  • Drive operational excellence, cost control, and margin improvement
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing country management team
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration
  • Oversee workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning
Stakeholder & Governance
  • Act as the country representative to regional leadership and global functions
  • Maintain strong relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and key partners
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance, compliance, and ethical standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine, or a related technical discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience within TIC, classification societies, marine/offshore, or industrial services
  • Proven track record in P&L leadership and country/business unit management
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and market expansion
  • Experience operating in a matrix, multinational environment with regional reporting lines
  • Deep understanding of Malaysia’s maritime, offshore, or industrial landscape
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
