This is a senior shore-based position with responsibility for overseeing the safe, reliable and cost-effective technical management of a tanker fleet. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the technical department, support vessel performance and ensure consistently high operational, safety and compliance standards.
The Role As Fleet Manager, you will:
- Lead and support a team of Technical Superintendents and shore-based technical personnel.
- Oversee the technical performance, maintenance and operational reliability of the assigned tanker fleet.
- Monitor vessel budgets, planned maintenance, dry-docking programmes and major repair projects.
- Ensure vessels comply with company procedures, class requirements, flag-state regulations and applicable maritime legislation.
- Work closely with Marine, HSEQ, Crewing, Procurement and Commercial departments.
- Review vessel performance, technical defects and recurring issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Support inspections, audits, vetting requirements and incident investigations.
- Provide technical guidance to Masters, Chief Engineers and vessel management teams.
- Maintain strong communication with senior management, clients, class societies and external service providers.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the fleet.
- Previous experience working as a Fleet Manager within a shipowner or ship management company.
- Strong tanker experience, ideally involving oil, chemical or product tanker vessels.
- A senior engineering background, preferably having sailed as Chief Engineer.
- Substantial shore-based technical management experience.
- Proven experience leading Technical Superintendents and managing vessel performance.
- Strong knowledge of dry-docking, budgeting, planned maintenance and regulatory compliance.
- A thorough understanding of ISM, class, flag-state and tanker industry requirements.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a demanding operational environment.
- The right to live and work in Cyprus or the ability to relocate.
