Finance Manager/Costing & Optimization Specialist
Cruise New Building Department 
Saint-Nazaire - France

I am currently working with a global leading cruise owner within their Newbuilding department, who are looking to bring a Finance Manager/Costing & Optimization Specialist into the team.

This is a really exciting opportunity to join a business at the forefront of cruise newbuild projects, working closely with shipyards and technical teams on large-scale, complex vessels.

This role sits right at the centre of the newbuild programme, supporting the costing, tracking, and optimisation of technical and design elements across multiple vessels. You will be working closely with internal technical teams, the shipyard, and external advisors to ensure full cost visibility throughout the lifecycle of the build.

The role will involve:
  • Building and validating cost estimates across technical specifications, vessel design, and enhancements
  • Tracking costs, risks, and variances as projects evolve
  • Supporting cost optimisation and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Working closely with shipyards and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
  • Acting as an on-site finance point of contact for newbuild and upgrade initiatives
The ideal candidate: 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within cost engineering, technical estimation, shipyard operations, or newbuild projects
  • Strong understanding of vessel systems and technical specifications
  • A degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field
  • Someone confident working across teams and able to influence stakeholders
  • Previous experience within cruise or shipbuilding
