Job Description

We are partnering with a leading organisation within the maritime sector to recruit an Engineer / Associate Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and optimisation of marine assets and associated systems.

An early-career engineering role focused on providing technical support for the design, maintenance, and lifecycle management of marine assets and associated equipment. The position involves assisting with engineering documentation, configuration control, and technical investigations to ensure assets remain safe, effective, and compliant throughout their operational life.
 
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role supports project delivery, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment used in demanding operational environments. It combines practical, hands-on engineering with structured processes and asset management principles, contributing to the reliability and performance of critical systems.
  
Key Responsibilities
1. To assist with design and development work, implementation and configuration change control of technical
documentation to facilitate the through life product configuration of all assets and their associated equipment
using the RNLI business systems and processes.
2. To ensure that the design of RNLI plant, equipment and procedures are developed in accordance with E&S
Processes and Standards as requested by Engineering Leads, IDT leads or Project Managers.
3. To work within one or more of the E&S delivery teams and to work with the Engineering Leads, IDT Leads
and Project Managers to ensure work is completed to agreed timescales and that IDT processes are followed.
4. To act as a designated engineering signatory in accordance with the E&S delegated authority matrix.
5. To assist in providing technical support to coastal staff and volunteers as requested by Engineering Leads,
IDT leads or Project Managers.
6. To undertake technical investigations, troubleshooting, trials and analysis of data at boatyards, contractor’s
premises and on-board plant as requested by Engineering leads, IDT leads or Project Managers.
7. To become involved in other ad hoc tasks and projects as required by Engineering Leads ,IDT leads or
Project Managers.
