Fastsrurrently partnering with a leading global expedition cruise operator in the search for an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join their shore-based technical team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a maritime electrical professional to take ownership of the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical and electronic systems across a modern fleet of passenger vessels.
The Role
As Electrical Superintendent, you will act as the primary shore-side technical lead for all electrical matters relating to your assigned vessels. You will work closely with onboard engineering teams, supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, dry dock planning, technical projects, compliance activities, and overall fleet reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to vessel engineering teams on the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of electrical systems.
- Act as the principal escalation point for complex electrical, automation, navigation, communication, and control system issues.
- Plan and oversee electrical maintenance activities, repairs, dry dock work, and vessel upgrade projects.
- Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, SOLAS, USCG, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical records and documentation, supporting audits, inspections, investigations, and reporting activities.
- Support budgeting, purchasing, vendor management, and project execution across assigned vessels.
- Conduct vessel visits to assess equipment condition, support troubleshooting activities, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational performance.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent maritime technical qualification preferred.
- Chief Electrical Officer certification or equivalent maritime experience is highly desirable.
- Previous experience supporting marine electrical systems within passenger vessels, cruise ships, or similar maritime environments.
- Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, safety practices, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with planned maintenance systems and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and schematics.
- Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- International travel of up to 25% is required.
- Ability to work onboard vessels, including climbing ladders and accessing machinery spaces.
- Flexibility to support operational requirements outside of normal office hours when necessary.
- This is a hybrid position with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
