Docking Superintendent - VLCC

Join an established international shipping organisation and take a lead role in the planning and execution of major VLCC dry-docking and repair projects.
This is a highly hands-on technical position with significant involvement at shipyards in China, where you may spend extended periods during docking and repair assignments.
You'll take responsibility across the full dry-docking cycle — from early planning, repair specifications and shipyard evaluation through to negotiation, execution, quality control and final completion. The role will also involve close coordination with Class, statutory authorities, shipyards, suppliers and vessel teams, with particular focus on major steel, machinery, cargo system and coating work.
Key Requirements
- Chief Engineer with substantial shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent, Docking Superintendent or in a comparable technical role, with strong hands-on involvement in VLCC dry-docking projects.
- Extensive and directly relevant VLCC experience, including major dry-docking and repair projects.
- Proven experience preparing docking and repair specifications, evaluating shipyards and supporting commercial negotiations.
- Strong track record managing repair progress, quality, cost control, Class and statutory survey coordination.
