Job Description

Docking Superintendent – Tugs & Offshore Support Vessels | Singapore based (with Australia travel)

Faststream is partnering with a towage and marine services group with an offshore and harbour fleet across Australia & APAC. They're hiring a Docking Superintendent to join their fleet team in Singapore, owning dry-dock planning and execution for their offshore vessel fleet.

The role is Singapore-based, with frequent travel to Australia, attending dockings, working with local yards and supporting the Australian fleet on the ground. You'll work alongside the Technical and Marine Superintendents, with close involvement from the Fleet Director.

What you'll be doing
  • Planning and managing scheduled and unscheduled dry dockings for an assigned offshore vessel fleet.
  • Preparing docking specifications, tendering to yards, evaluating quotes and negotiating commercial terms.
  • Building and controlling docking budgets, then tracking variations and final costs against plan.
  • Attending dockings on site, supervising yard work, quality and safety, and keeping the programme on schedule.
  • Coordinating class surveys, flag requirements and any statutory work falling in the docking window.
  • Liaising with vessel crews, technical superintendents, procurement and makers to line up spares, services and specialist contractors.
  • Closing out each docking with a post-docking report, lessons learned and updated maintenance records.
What you'll bring
  • Proven dry-docking experience from a superintendent, docking or project role, ideally with tugs, OSVs or other small-to-mid-size workboats.
  • Familiarity with the Australian maritime environment, such as AMSA requirements, Australian yards and working with Australian crews. Experience with the AU maritime environment is mandatory.
  • An engineering or marine qualification: a degree, diploma or CoC.
  • Seagoing experience, which is an advantage but not mandatory. Strong shore-side docking candidates will be considered.
  • Confidence negotiating with shipyards and contractors, and holding them to scope, cost and time.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, with 4–6 months a year in Australia.
