Director, Global Crew Development
Hong Kong

Join a global maritime organisation and help shape how it attracts, develops and retains its seafarer workforce.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for three key areas: developing seafarer competency, strengthening recruitment and improving long-term retention. You'll work closely with regional leadership, maritime training institutes and industry partners to ensure seafarers have the skills, support and career opportunities to perform at their best. You'll also help shape how the organisation prepares its seafarers for the future, ensuring the workforce is ready for evolving technologies, new vessel types and changing industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead how the organisation trains, develops and builds the capability of its seafarers.
  • Strengthen recruitment strategies and build long-term seafarer talent pipelines.
  • Improve seafarer engagement, retention and career development.
  • Work closely with regional teams, maritime academies and manning partners to maintain consistent global standards.
  • Help shape future learning strategies to prepare seafarers for new technologies, evolving regulations and the changing needs of the maritime industry.
Key Requirements
  • Leadership experience in developing seafarer competency, training, talent management or crewing within the maritime industry. Former Masters and Chief Engineers will be highly regarded.
  • Experience building talent pipelines, strengthening workforce capability and improving seafarer retention.
  • Confident leading stakeholders across different countries, cultures and business functions.
