Please note: This is a permanent shore-based position based in Hamburg, Germany. Applicants must have the right to live and work in the EU and be willing to be based in Hamburg, as visa sponsorship is not available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a maritime security professional to take ownership of fleet-wide security management across a passenger vessel fleet.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with international regulations, assessing security risks, and promoting a strong security culture across both vessel and shore-based teams.
The Role You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's security framework, ensuring vessels remain compliant with the ISPS Code and internal security standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring security threats and conducting risk assessments
- Managing Ship Security Assessments (SSA) and Ship Security Plans (SSP)
- Coordinating security audits, drills, and reviews
- Liaising with Flag States, Class, and regulatory authorities
- Managing security-related non-conformities and corrective actions
- Supporting and developing security training programmes
- Acting as a key link between Ship Security Officers and shore-based teams
- Driving consistency and continuous improvement across fleet security processes
- Certified Company Security Officer (CSO)
- Previous experience within maritime security, ideally in the passenger vessel sector
- Background as a CSO, SSO, Master, Security Manager, or in a similar role
- Experience within Cruise, Ferry, or Yacht operations
- Strong knowledge of the ISPS Code and maritime security regulations
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Must have the right to live and work in the EU
- Must be willing to relocate to or be based in Hamburg, Germany
