You will manage the offshore Personnel Department, maintaining its integrity while ensuring the professional, efficient, and effective delivery of all departmental activities.
The role is responsible for meeting client requirements through the provision of suitably qualified and experienced personnel, while empowering team members with the authority and support needed to perform effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Resource and manage the activities of the Marine HR Department, providing recommendations to senior management on department operations and work practices.
- Ensure personnel activities are fully integrated with all related company functions through close collaboration with internal departments and offices.
- Oversee overseas manning agents to ensure compliance with company standards, and ensure crew management contracts are clearly defined and mitigate potential risks and liabilities.
- Work closely with senior management to resolve any conflicts or complaints raised by offshore personnel or clients.
- Maintain an up-to-date crew database for all offshore personnel.
- Stay informed on relevant STCW, MLC, and M Notice regulations, ensuring updates are communicated appropriately.
- Support training and development initiatives to enhance team knowledge and ensure awareness of industry changes.
- Contribute to identifying new business opportunities and supporting contract development alongside senior management.
- Promote and adhere to the company’s Safety & Environmental Policy and undertake any additional duties as reasonably required.
Education:
Minimum of five National 5 qualifications (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics, or relevant experience in a similar role and environment.
Experience:
Proven experience in recruiting and managing offshore (seagoing) personnel, as well as shore-based staff.
Industry Knowledge:
Background in Oil & Gas or shipping, with previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
