We are seeking a highly accomplished Country Director – Europe to lead our clients regional operations and drive strategic growth across Cyprus, Greece, and the wider European market.
As the face of the Fleet in Europe, this role combines executive leadership, commercial strategy, and hands-on operational management. You will directly oversee a large, multi-national team, ensuring excellence in vessel management, QHSE performance, and commercial success.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership – Vessel Management & QHSE
Oversee day-to-day Vessel Management and QHSE operations across the region
Ensure all vessels meet regulatory requirements and defined operating standards
Drive standardisation of onboard technical practices, resolving inefficiencies and promoting best-in-class performance
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhancing PSC/audit outcomes and reducing safety incidents and off-hire events
Lead and manage the Cyprus office (30+ staff) across technical and administrative functions
Maintain oversight of the Turkey team, ensuring alignment and operational support
Act as a senior escalation point during incidents or crises, supporting fleet directors across vessel segments
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
Lead business development across Europe, with a focus on Cyprus and Greece
Increase technical and operational capability across fleet
Provide market insight and customer intelligence to shape commercial strategy
Take accountability for regional revenue growth and commercial performance
Collaborate with senior leadership (Fleet CEO, Group CEO, Executive Directors) to define and achieve strategic targets
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of commercial initiatives
Financial Management
Own and manage the regional budget, ensuring strong financial performance
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
Ensure accurate aggregation and presentation of financial plans to Executive Management
Identify and address financial anomalies and performance gaps
People & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the country leadership team in Cyprus
Provide ongoing support and oversight to the Turkey team lead
Build a high-performance, collaborative culture across all locations
Drive talent development through structured development plans and mentoring
Partner with HR to ensure effective workforce planning and capability development

About YouExperience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field
12–15+ years’ experience in the maritime industry
3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a global organisation
Proven track record as a Country Director / Regional Director /Technical Director /Operations Director
Strong experience in vessel management and QHSE leadership
Demonstrated success in commercial growth and business development, particularly within the Greek shipping market
Experience leading organisational transformation initiatives
Deep understanding of ship management strategy and operations
