As a Commissioning Engineer your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Independently carrying out electrical and mechanical commissioning of equipment and systems following installation
- Undertake compliance testing on completion of full system commissioning and hand over to customer
- Liaising with customers while on site handling technical queries and questions
- Provide detailed reports and accurate feedback on commissioning
- Assist the engineering department and customers with mechanical - electrical installation, planning & design
- Provide emergency 'out of hours' contact and support
- Provide recommendations for the improvement of products, specifications, installation, and operational procedures
Requirements...
- A proven background within the marine sector, preferably within an electrical/mechanical engineering environment
- A formal qualification within marine engineering e.g HNC/HND level or NVQ3 in commissioning and installing electro-mechanical systems.
- Understanding of electronic and PLC control systems would be advantageous
- Must have a sound and full understanding of, and with the ability to follow, P&ID drawings, process flow drawings and complex electrical drawings
- Pro-active and independent individual with a team player attitude
- Practical problem solver with the ability to display a systematic approach to evaluation and resolution
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with both colleagues and customers
- Valid passport and driving license
- Willingness to travel abroad for up to 6 weeks at a time and on occasion longer
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
