Job Description

Locations: Newcastle (preferred) Or will consider London as alternative

Overview

We’re partnering with a leading offshore maritime operator within the global energy sector, looking to hire a Commercial Executive to support chartering and commercial activity across their fleet.

This role is ideal for someone who has cut their teeth in broking—perhaps 2–5 years in the market—who enjoys the commercial side, relationships, and deal-making, but is now looking for a more stable platform while staying close to the action.

You’ll play a key role in driving vessel utilisation, supporting chartering activity, and building client relationships, working closely with brokers, charterers, and internal teams.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support day-to-day chartering activity across a fleet of CTV, CSOV, and ECV vessels (spot & term)
  • Act as a commercial lynchpin between brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Help drive vessel utilisation through proactive client engagement and deal support
  • Maintain vessel availability, schedules, and utilisation data
  • Assist with negotiations, follow-ups, and execution of charter agreements
  • Prepare and review charter party documentation (BIMCO knowledge advantageous)
  • Contribute to new business development, leveraging your network and market awareness
  • Support tenders, proposals, and commercial strategy initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry contacts
  • Represent the business at meetings, events, and client engagements
What We’re Looking For
  • Background in shipbroking, chartering, or offshore/maritime markets
  • Likely an ex-broker who still enjoys the commercial side—relationship building, networking, and originating opportunities
  • Strong awareness of offshore energy markets (vessel type experience flexible)
  • Commercially driven with the confidence to engage clients and spot opportunities
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
  • Good understanding of chartering processes and contracts (BIMCO beneficial)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a client-facing environment
  • Existing industry network is a plus but not essential
Why Join
  • Opportunity to stay close to the deal-making side of offshore energy without pure broking pressure
  • High visibility role with exposure to senior leadership and commercial strategy
  • Work in a collaborative, agile team with real ownership
  • Hybrid working and flexibility
  • Travel across Europe and industry events
  • Competitive salary (DOE)
Summary If you’ve spent a few years in broking and realised it’s not quite the long-term fit—but you still thrive on relationships, market insight, and making things happen commercially—this is a perfect next step.
