Location: Singapore
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate cargo opportunities and source suitable tonnage across the Handy and Supramax markets
- Negotiate and conclude voyage and time charter fixtures to optimise commercial returns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, brokers, and other key market participants
- Develop new business opportunities and expand the company's trading portfolio
- Monitor freight markets, cargo flows, and vessel positions to identify profitable trading opportunities
- Negotiate charter parties and manage commercial risks throughout the fixture lifecycle
- Work closely with Operations to ensure seamless post-fixture execution
- Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to support trading strategies
Requirements:
- Degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline
- Minimum 6 years of dry bulk chartering experience, with a strong focus on the Handy and/or Supramax segment
- Proven track record in originating both cargoes and tonnage within an operator, shipowner, commodity trading house, or brokerage environment
- Strong understanding of dry bulk freight markets, charter parties, and commercial operations
- Established network across owners, charterers, and brokers
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Commercially driven with the ability to identify and execute profitable trading opportunities
