An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join a leading global passenger shipping organisation. This role offers the chance to shape category strategies, influence major capital and operational projects, and support one of the world's most innovative fleets.
The Role
As Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that deliver commercial value, operational reliability, and supply chain resilience across technical and marine procurement categories.
You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers to drive continuous improvement, support major projects, and optimise spend across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies that support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
- Support newbuild, retrofit, and maintenance projects through strategic sourcing and supplier engagement.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract management activities.
- Build strong partnerships with technical, operational, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct spend analysis, demand planning, benchmarking, and cost modelling.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives focused on cost optimisation and value creation.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and supply chain enhancement.
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities within your assigned categories.
You are a strategic procurement professional who understands that category management goes far beyond sourcing and contract negotiation.
You will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, or technical sales within maritime, engineering, transport, or another relevant technical industry.
- Experience developing and delivering category strategies with measurable business impact.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- A track record of delivering savings, value improvements, and supplier performance enhancements.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced international environment. [
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience within the maritime, cruise, offshore, shipbuilding, transportation, or other complex technical industries.
- Office based in Weybridge.
