Faststream are assisting a global Oil & Gas company to recruit a new member of staff to join their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career and join a well-known company. You will report to the Commercial Negotiator.

The Company - 
They are a global Oil & Gas company that covers a vast number of areas in the Energy world. From fabrication to procurement to Renewables and Upstream production. They are increasing growth in the company the reaching around the world for new opportunites. 


The role - 
To analyse new and developing business opportunities in relation to energy transition and support negotiations for commercial contracts, licenses and permits.
  • Close monitoring of UK Government policy in relation to developing business models for carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) and hydrogen production and marketing
  • Provision of timely advice to company concerning optimum strategy in regard of developing government policy and potential to influence that policy
  • Analysis of economic impact and risks associated with new energy transition business
    • To advise on possible terms for new/ amended commercial agreements and their implications.
    • To inform and consult with other departments in order to establish terms that fully take account of all relevant technical, financial and legal/ regulatory issues and to ensure that (client) UK communicates a consistent message to external parties.
    • To ensure compliance with the Commercial Code of Practice.
    • To present to Management the terms of agreements and their implications once negotiated and provide support to obtain approval to execute.
    • To prepare internal reports/notes to the management describing the commercial terms in relation to new agreements/amendments and/or business opportunities
    • To maintain a dialogue with contracted parties in order to gauge their intentions regarding notices, profiles, contract extensions, etc. and towards furthering (client)UK business relationships.
    • To liaise with co-venturers and potential business partners in order to investigate mutually beneficial opportunities.
    • To monitor competitor commercial activity within the (client)UK geographic area.
    • To keep the Contracts Database up to date
    • To ensure full adherence to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and standards.
    • To fully comply with (client)Code of Ethics and Law 231 principles and to coordinate as needed in conducting Due Diligence checks/reports in line with the applicable MSG/procedures.
    • To support negotiation and administration of commercial and licence agreements in areas of energy transition including:
      • o Lease agreements
      • o Asset sale and purchase agreements
      • o Supply and offtake agreementsTo fully comply with the HSE Critical roles should your position contain any HSE Critical tasks / duties. The Person -
Have experience in the following:
  • Member of Exploration and Operations and Development multifunctional teams as required, reporting to Team Leaders for specific projects.
  • Works closely with the Legal Department
  • Liaise with Finance department
  • Counterparts and partners in joint ventures, collaboration agreements, service agreements and competitor companies.
  • Existing and potential providers of CO2 and other energy transportation and processing services.
  • UK Government agencies (including BEIS, Ofgem, OPRED, OGA, The Crown Estate)
  • Honours Degree plus relevant post graduate degree or business qualification.
  • Previous relevant experience in upstream sector engaged in a broad range of commercial negotiation activities.
  • Good understanding of value analysis, able to commission and interrogate economic models
  • Good understanding of the elements of legal agreements, able to analyse agreements, identify issues and summarise the position of parties to the agreement
  • Organised, able to stay on top of multiple assets and negotiations
  • Good understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with transitioning from an oil and gas industry to a low carbon future.
