This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll be coordinating port calls, boarding vessels, and acting as the key link between the ship, port, and everyone in between.
What you’ll be doing You’ll essentially own the port call from start to finish:
- Coordinating vessel arrivals and departures
- Arranging pilots, tugs, berths, and port services
- Handling all port documentation (SOF, port clearance, reports, etc.)
- Managing regulatory filings (CBP, USCG, ENAOD, ballast water)
- Acting as the main point of contact between the vessel, owners, and authorities
- Boarding vessels across Gulf ports when needed
- Organizing crew changes, repairs, supplies, and medical visits
- Attending onboard operations and handling documentation in person
- Reviewing and approving supplier invoices
- Keeping all stakeholders updated with clear vessel status reports
- Supporting the Operations Manager with planning and problem-solving
What we’re looking for
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience in vessel agency or port operations
- Solid understanding of U.S. port procedures and maritime regulations
- Maritime or logistics background (degree is a bonus, not essential)
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- A strong communicator who can juggle multiple moving parts
- TWIC card and valid driver’s license
- Comfortable boarding vessels and working in a hands-on environment
- Full-time, onsite role based in Houston
- Travel to regional/Gulf ports required
- Target start date: May 1st, 2026
