As Assistant Technical Superintendent, you will support the day‑to‑day technical management of assigned cruise vessels, helping to ensure consistent vessel performance, compliance and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the safe and efficient technical management of assigned cruise vessels in line with contractual requirements
- Assisting with monitoring machinery and equipment performance and supporting corrective actions where required
- Supporting the planning, coordination and follow‑up of maintenance and repair activities
- Assisting with forecasting technical requirements, spare parts and training needs
- Supporting the resolution of technical issues and maintaining effective communication with relevant stakeholders
- Assisting in ensuring compliance with vessel certification, class, flag and regulatory requirements
- Supporting the planning, execution and follow‑up of dry dockings and major repair projects
- Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of technical budgets (OPEX & CAPEX) and cost‑control activities
- Participating in vessel visits, inspections and audits, supporting reporting and follow‑up actions
About You
This role would suit someone eager to develop into a full Technical Superintendent position.
You will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture (or equivalent), or Chief Engineer / Officer certification
- Sailing experience as a technical or engineering officer, ideally within the cruise sector
- Shore‑based experience in technical ship management is an advantage but not essential
