Job Description

We are partnering with a leading engineering solutions provider to hire an Applications Engineer specializing in flow control and actuator systems.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role suited for an engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, supporting industrial projects, and acting as the technical expert for actuator solutions across industries including oil & gas, power generation, water & wastewater, marine, and process industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Engineering & Technical Support
  • Provide technical expertise on electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic actuator systems.
  • Interpret customer process requirements and recommend suitable actuator and valve automation solutions.
  • Perform actuator sizing, product selection, and prepare technical proposals, datasheets, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct site visits, troubleshoot technical issues, and support installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Customer & Project Support
  • Act as the technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, working closely with customers, consultants, contractors, and engineering teams.
  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Support project execution by providing technically sound and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Liaise with overseas principals to resolve technical queries and obtain engineering support.
Technical Training & Knowledge Sharing
  • Deliver product training and technical presentations for customers, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Develop technical documentation including application guides, product comparisons, case studies, and engineering reference materials.
  • Support technical marketing initiatives by contributing to product literature, presentations, and educational content.
Product & Market Development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of actuator technologies, industry standards, and market developments.
  • Evaluate new products and technologies to support future portfolio growth.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and provide recommendations to strengthen the company's product range.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in actuator systems, valves, flow control equipment, or industrial automation is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of actuator selection, sizing, valve automation, or process engineering applications.
  • Experience supporting industrial projects within oil & gas, marine, power generation, water treatment, chemical, or process industries.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for technical engineering solutions.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with sales, project, and service teams.
