Faststream Recruitment has been exclusively appointed a prestigious UK Shipyard to recruit a Steel Design Engineer.

Following its recent acquisition by a London listed energy firm our Client is once again very much "open for business". They are now looking to build a team of top talent, who will support their ambitious growth plans. With a history spanning over 150 years of marine manufacturing experience, they offer a unique combination of vast facilities and technical capability perfectly positioned to support the full life-cycle needs of the defence, commercial shipping, cruise & ferry, oil & gas and renewables sectors as well as major civils projects.

As an experienced Steel Design Engineer, you should have demonstrated experience working for a Ship Yard or Naval Design Consultancy working on large commercial or naval vessels. You should be a collaborative team player, motivated by team success and a shared vision for long-term growth, committed and hardworking with lots of energy.

Duties will include:

* Bid support
* Primary & secondary modelling
* Build strategy
* Assembly planning
* Plate nesting
* Profile nesting
* Drawing / Draughting
* Production support / sketches (weights / COG & lifting arrangements, bed layouts, additional sketches etc)
* Docking plans/block arrangements

Software experience required

* Aveva Hull, Outfit, Nesting & Draughting Design
* AutoCAD
* Rhino
* OmniBevel / OmniWin
