You will be responsible for a total of 15 Vessel and are using Shipnet to deal directly with the Fleet. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for supervising 3 Purchasing Officers with their day-to-day activities in a timely and economic supply of materials and services required by the Fleet.
To ensure safe operations of all vessels with regard to timely supply of stores, spares and services. Organise and supervise all new building vessels' pre delivery outfits.
Liaise with principals for group procurement activities.
Negotiate and place contracts for major consumables (lubricating oil, paint, chemicals, gases, nautical charts, working clothes).
Assist in preparing vessels' operating budgets.
Monitor new product ranges and bring to attention of Fleet Managers / Superintendents for assessment. Maintain and monitor vessels supplier's vendors list.
Maintain purchasing department library.
Monitor and produce monthly lubricating oil consumption figures for analysis and discussion with fleet teams. Monitor stock levels of official forms and stationery and re-ordering when necessary.
Manage and monitor catering services activity and feeding rate on board. Negotiate and manage contracts with victualing service providers, and reconcile differences and compensation arrangements as appropriate.
Identifying areas for improvement and submitting proposals to GM / Branch Manager for consideration and forwarding to the HSEQ team.Back to Jobs Page
