Logistics Engineer

A client of FastStream Recruitment is currently seeking a Logistics Engineer. The right candidate would have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in shipments, procedure development, vendor management, and technical support for the movement of large cargo. This position requires excellent communication skills, organizational skills, risk analysis skills, and decision making capabilities. Some essential job functions are as follows:

·        Coordinate critical shipment between the 

          company facilities, to ports, and rail   distribution center

·        Responsible for writing procedures for lifting, handing and securing large cargo

·        Use engineer principles and standards to solve 

          transportation related with emphasis on heavy

          dimensional product, lifting arrangements,

          stability, decision of shipping fixtures, and

          knowledge of the transportation industry;

          partner with vendors to obtain these results

·        Develop and implement a supplier management process for surveyors, rigger,halers,  and rail

·        Identify, qualify, and coordinate, machining, welding, fabrication shops, and field  shops

·        Discharge and loading support vessels, railcars,  and trucks

·        Negotiate contracts

Candidate Requirements:

·         8-10 years of experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Design, or Civil)

·         Professional Engineers License in Mechanical Engineering

·         Knowledge of high wide heavy cargo

·         Knowledge of industry regulations  for rail, road, air , and water
